Many environmental factors were taken into consideration when selecting the South Taranaki offshore wind zone. Robust research and mitigation measures need to occur as the project develops due to a high diversity of species that inhabit New Zealand, both in the marine and terrestrial environments.

Engagements with Iwi, relevant government departments and environmental experts are underway.
